UTILITY Alliance Yorkshire’s Darren Hill preparing to step into the boxing ring in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The charity night is set to take place at the Double Tree Hilton, Sheffield on the 9th of June. The event will host 23 fights and all money raised will go to the charity.
Darren, a Lead Generator at Utility Alliance Yorkshire, stands at 6ft8 tall and will be competing as a heavyweight against a mystery opponent on the night.
Darren said: “This will be the third boxing match I’ve had to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I lost my Dad and Uncle to cancer so it’s something that’s very close to me.
“The first time I took part in one of these was just four days after I lost my Dad. I didn’t have any previous fighting experience, I was never even one to get in trouble at school I’m very timid.
“I’ve been training three times a week to get ready for the fight, and I’ve even bought an altitude mask to go running in! I’m feeling calm at the minute but I know a couple of days before the fight the nerves will kick in”.
Utility Alliance have sponsored Darren for the charity fight night and the UA logo will appear on the back of his shirt as he steps into the ring.
