African Adventures Trip On The Cards For Another Two Staff At Utility Alliance

9 August, 2019

FOLLOWING the huge success of last years visit to Ghana, two other lucky employees of Utility Alliance are about to embark on the trip of a lifetime.

Alongside Principal Partners, Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC), Ryan Prest and Nathan Harbottle will fly out on the African Adventure in October. They will spend 8 days there experiencing the culture as well as providing a much needed helping hand with building work.

After a nerve-wracking Mario Kart race off, both Ryan and Nathan reigned victorious.

Nathan Harbottle, a Sales Administrator at Utility Alliance said: “Upon winning the trip of life time to Ghana and ruining everyone in the process on Mario Kart, bar my counterpart Ryan, I’m really pleased with my achievement and I don’t think I could be anymore excited to go.

“I don’t really know what to expect, but I think it’ll be a massive eye opener for myself. I think it’ll leave me feeling more gratitude to the privileges I have.

“I’m hoping to see if I can put my music degree to some use and do some singing lessons with the children. I’m sure they all know how to sing and have a great time.”

Nathan Allen, a Lead Generator at Utility Alliance, who attended the trip last year added: “Ghana last year was an amazing experience. I met so many good people on the trip, from the group I went with to the representatives of African adventures, Livingstone and Bright.

“I saw so many eye opening things, from the homeless children living on the streets to similar children attending school. A school in which didn’t even have electricity.

“On a day to day basis I was helping build a new classroom in the local school, and on an evening I was spending time with the kids that lived in the orphanage, The Young Shall Grow. They help many local children in the area providing them with a place to stay, food and basic clothing.

“I would love to do this again, given the chance.”

African Adventures is a volunteer travel organisation dedicated to improving lives. Their trips are said to be challenging, eye-opening and extremely worthwhile.
