BURNLEY FC in the Community is in the running for two categories at the upcoming Football Business Awards 2017. Burnley FC’s official charity joined Utility Alliance as a commercial partner earlier this year and has been shortlisted as finalists in two categories.
Hoping to get a win for the Best Football Community Scheme Award and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme Award, Burnley FC in the Community will attend the ceremony due to take place at the iconic Tabacco Dock in London this November.
They will join shortlisted nominees from community organisations from across the country including Everton in the Community, Fulham FC Foundation, Manchester City FC and Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust.
Neil Hart, CEO of Burnley FC in the Community said: “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for two categories at this year’s Football Business Awards! This is the first time that we have submitted an entry to the illustrious awards and we are extremely proud that our valuable community work has been recognised. We look forward to attending the ceremony in November.”
Utility Alliance are Community’s official energy supplier, powering the charity’s facilities portfolio including the Leisure Box operation at Brierfield Mill and Whitehough Outdoor Education Centre in Barley.
Since the beginning of the two year deal which made Utility Alliance Community’s principle partner, both sides have worked closely together to strengthen the on-going relationship which benefits everyone involved.
PR & Marketing Assistant Sadie Wise said: “It’s been a huge success working in partnership with Burnley FC in the Community and it’s great to see them recognised for some of the fantastic work they do in and around Burnley. We wish them good luck in the final this November!”
