NOVEMBER’S incentive draw has given two lucky employees of Utility Alliance an opportunity of a lifetime to go volunteer in Ghana with partners Burnley FC in the Community.
Along with a number of other prizes up for grabs in the latest incentives, there was two spaces available on an 8 day trip with African Adventures to help build schools in the area.
African Adventures is a volunteer travel organisation dedicated to improving lives. Their trips are said to be challenging, eye-opening and extremely worthwhile.
Utility Alliance were introduced to the volunteering trip by commercial partners Burnley FC in the Community, they have volunteered previously assisting with the build of a new two storey classroom block.
Ryan Forth and Chris Anderson, the two winners will fly out to Ghana in March next year.
Ryan said: “I was absolutely buzzing when my name got pulled out! I am planning on filling my passport as much as possible and this is something that I would never have thought I would ever get the opportunity to do, it will be such a unique experience.”
Siobhan McNamara, Marketing & Events Manager at BFCitC said: “This is the third year we’ll be working with African Adventures and we are so pleased to be heading back to Woe with them! They are very supportive of our work and we have always been so well looked after by them – both before and during the trip.
“They work with hundreds of volunteers every year, including lots of sports trusts, so their experience and specialism is really valuable. Three years in, we now enjoy a well-established and meaningful relationship with the team.
“Primarily however, we know that through their teams on-the-ground in Ghana, we can deliver work that is responsible, purposeful and that really makes a difference.”
